Journey to Africa

Journey to ZambiaAlmost 30 years old, this once London bus, has been renovated to become a working classroom and library.

After Quentin Blake decorated the bus in a spectacular mural, the bus was shipped by Wallnius Willenheim from Southampton to Port Elizabeth, South Africa and driven to Cape Town.

Here the bus was installed with a generator, rough terrain tyres and a special pump with cooling system.

Ready to tackle the African roads, the bus was then driven north through South Africa up to Zambia via Botswana.

Since its’ arrival, the bus has been operating from the north of Zambia through to Livingstone in the south.

Even in the wilds of Zambia, we are often approached by people who recognise the beautiful and quirky paintings of Quentin Blake.
