Improving children's lives one book at a time.
The Book Bus aims to improve child literacy rates in Africa, Asia and South America by providing children with books and the inspiration to read them.
The Book Bus is currently working to improve literacy rates at a community level in India, Zambia, Malawi and Ecuador. Our library work, book donations and assisted reading programme is helping strengthen the reading culture in schools resulting in a more confident reading population that is better equipped for the future.
Thanks to the support of our generous donors and enthusiastic volunteers the Book Bus has been able to make a real difference to many needy communities in Africa, Asia and South America. Please explore our website to discover how you can help us keep the Book Bus literacy campaign in motion.

Sir Quentin Blake
Sir Quentin Blake, Trustee, is one of Britain’s best loved children’s authors and illustrators. The Book Bus is fortunate to have Quentin personally design and illustrate the artwork that makes our buses look so beautiful.
Cementing his involvement with the bus, Quentin decided to join our board of trustees in January 2009. Quentin has achieved a phenomenal amount during his ongoing career and we are incredibly proud to be working with him.
